In today’s ever evolving, fast paced world of real estate, you must have
quite a few tools in your tool box just to be able to operate. It is what
it is. There are several things every real estate agent must have to be competitive
in today’s marketplace. Knowing this, imagine what a realtor has to do to really
stand out. Long gone are the days of sticking a sign in the yard, listing a home on
the MLS and selling it.
Even more gone, are the days of your listing presentation sealing the deal
if it only consists of things like “I’m always available and I offer excellent
customers service” These days, that shit is assumed. The customer wants to know
what you are going to do above and beyond what any other agent can offer. Let’s
don’t kid ourselves here, 6% of a person’s largest asset is a lot of money.
Every time I stand up in front of a room full of realtors, I always hear the
same complaint, “We are nickeled and dimmed to death” meaning a realtor pays a
ton of money just to be in the game. I’ve always said “you have to spend money
to make money” What do you expect? Just to sell multiple hundred thousand to
multiple million dollar assets without having to put a few of your dollars towards
it? C’mon now, you’re better than that. The key is to know what to spend your
nickels and dimes on. The last thing you need is a distraction that you pay for ;-)
The #1 way to sell more real estate without working harder, is to hire an assistant.
A good assistant will keep you off of the commission roller coaster. If you can’t afford an
assistant, then pair up with a good Loan Officer or a business development rep from a
title company. The more deals you, the agent gets, the more a mortgage officer or
title agent gets.
This video shows you 9 things you have to do as an agent, just to be in the game.
