Book Review: The Dirt by Motley Crue and Neil Strauss
Reading the first chapter of this book is like being slapped in the face by a stranger who then brings you into a dark room and sticks a needle in your arm filled with the most addictive substance known to man. You’re hooked and you can never get enough. That’s what this book is.
It’s an addicting drug you never want to end.
The stories in this book are insane. Motley Crue lived the rockstar life to the fullest. They had it all. The look, the fame, the women, the drugs, the parties, the music, and everything else. These guys were some of the biggest stars in the world in the 80’s and 90’s.
Motley Crue changed the music scene. Until they showed up, sex drugs and rock n roll wasn’t really a thing. They made the rock star life what it is. The glamorized the very things other bands did in secret. They used their would-be weakness to create a movement.
But that’s not what this book is about at all. This book is filled with every salesperson’s dream life. A life full of hookers and blow, lol. These guys did it all and this book documents it from their first person point of view. Not to mention Neil Strauss, the author of the world famous book The Game puts his spin on the layout which makes it easy to read and highly addicting.
If you’re looking for a book that will entertain the f*ck out of you, this is it. You gotta read it. I give it 5 stars.
