Book Review: Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins

This is hands down the best book I’ve ever read. And I’ve read hundreds if not thousands of books. David Goggins is an all-out beast. His mindset is harder than hard. I love it. 

I first met David in 2017.

We went to see Joe Rogan do a stand-up routine in Dallas, Texas. As soon as we picked up David from his hotel, the entire SUV got quiet. You could feel the respect in the air. I’ve been around some badasses in my day, but David personifies a resilient mindset without trying.
After the show, David jogged back to his hotel… Just kidding but I’m sure it crossed his mind. 
I’ve maintained a loosely connected relationship with DG. After all, no one is really his friend. He’s the one-man wolfpack. But we do exchange texts every now and then. I was also fortunate enough to be mentored by David Goggins for about six months. He taught me many of the principles in his book while instructing me to callous my mind and build a shield around it. “Everything is in your head,” he always told me.
After finding out he was finally gonna publish his book (we had talked about it several times, I offered to help) I pre-ordered 50 and then the Audible as well. I give his book to ALL of my personal coaching clients and tell everyone I run into who reads, to read it. 

The book is full of insights into how the mind works and just how far you can truly push yourself.

There is nothing but abundance on this planet and the only limitations are the ones you set in your mind. Let that sink in for a minute. You are in charge of your limitations. 
David would tell you: “If you want it, you’ll make it happen. If not, you didn’t really want it.” He’s living proof of someone who gets what they want no matter the level of pain endurance needed.
