First, before we get too far into this, I’m not a big fan of MLM. In my opinion, it’s a sketchy business designed for those at the top to win. That being said, there are some amazing companies possessing impressive sales and marketing skills. I’d be a fool for not recognizing the good parts of MLM along with the bad.
I’ve never sold Visalus or met Ryan Blair. I have no ties to the company whatsoever. But I really like Ryan and what he stands for. He reminds me of a richer, older, more handsome version of me.
I’m still cooler though, just so we are all on the same level…
I started following Ryan Blair online after reading his first book Nothing To Loose. I enjoy his stories of successes and failures in running a multi-hundred-million-dollar business. His realness and ability to tell his true story is what originally got my attention. There are not too many folks like us in the business realm.

In his latest book, Rock Bottom To Rock Star, Ryan tells the stories of his business life. In his first book, he wrote about his personal struggles; in this book, he talks ALL business. From losing his friend and mentor’s $60 million dollars to taking Visalus public, and then to taking it back private again.
One of the things I like most about Ryan is his ability to share the lessons from his failures with the same ease that he shares his success. In today’s times, so many people and authors don’t tell you the real story. They make business seem like it’s all rainbows and unicorns. When in fact, business is a bloody war.
If you’re looking for a great book with an awesome and exciting story line, this is the one. Rock Bottom to Rock Star is one of the best books I’ve read in months.
