Listen…
It’s easy as an up-and-coming entrepreneur to think “GRINDING” 24/7 will make you more successful.
It’s said that roughly 50% of American workers leave their vacation time unused. When you are creating a new business or starting a career it makes sense that you’d want to work harder than those around you. And there are a lot of misinformed folks out there who will tell you that working yourself to the bone is the only way to make it in this world.
Don’t listen to the folks who aren’t where you want to be in life.
Even the highest producers take time to rest and disconnect from the business world occasionally. Steve Jobs was a well-known advocate for taking LSD and chilling out in his early years. He once said it was one of the “two or three most important things” he ever did in his life. Not because it got him high, but because it allowed him to reset his mind and think outside the box. I’m not saying you need to run out and find the first dealer you can, but I am saying you should consider the thought that even someone at his level took time to disconnect. More importantly, taking time off allows you to see how your business runs without you.
If you can’t be gone for more than a day you don’t have a business, you have a job.
Can you take a few hours or days off without everything coming to a grinding halt? You might be starting to think about all the things you do in your business on a day-to-day basis when I ask you that question. It’s important to know what can operate without you if you want to create a plan for long-term success. Taking time off can give you a clear sense of what to do and who to hire to handle operations when you are gone.
When you take the time to go out and have fun you put yourself in a position to work harder.
When you spend a few thousand dollars on a vacation, you can guarantee when you get back to work you will want to go harder to make up for it. So, take the time to be with your family for an afternoon or weekend. Doing so will make you realize how important that time is and make you want to enjoy more of it.
The only way to remain super-successful is by taking the time to shut down and reset yourself. You know what they say…
“The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long.”
We are here to remain as successful as possible for as long as we can. That means take the time you need when you need it.
Becoming the most elite version of yourself takes a lot of work. It also requires the dedication that you will do whatever it takes to get there. Sometimes, that means taking a day off. If you’d like to know more about becoming the most elite version of yourself and dominating every area of your life, head over to www.jointheapex.com and get started.
