For this article’s sake, we are going to use the term “funnel” in the sense of a marketing tool.

So, what is a funnel?

A funnel is a series of steps that your online traffic goes through before becoming a prospective buyer for your product or services. Your profile on various social media platforms is one of those steps. As online traffic comes across your pages, you need to have a simple way to catch their attention and draw them further through the attraction process that turns them into buyers.

This is a process that many entrepreneurs and business owners get wrong, and it costs them thousands of dollars a day in lost revenue.

If someone is coming across your social media profiles, you need to make it simple for them to see who you are, what you do, and how you can help them solve their problems if their problems happen to be something you can help them with. When you make this process easy, you can increase your chances of getting someone to reach out to you and have a sales conversation. The key is keeping things simple.

Step #1 – Have a well-organized profile.

Your profiles should be neat and easy to look at. Remember, these social media platforms have billions of users daily. If you want to get someone’s attention, think of your profile as a billboard or business card. If someone handed you a business card that looked like chicken scratch and was covered in filth, you wouldn’t be too keen on doing business with that person. The same can be said about your online profiles.

Your profile pictures should be clear and focus on who you are now. People want to do business with people they can trust. Make sure they know who they are working with by having a well-put-together profile image.

Make sure your bio is short and to the point. It should represent your mission or core values and lead people to understand what you’re trying to achieve.

One job, and one job only! It doesn’t matter how many companies you own or have worked for in the past. It would be best if you kept it simple, and having 10 different jobs listed will only confuse people.

Post content consistently and make sure it’s focused on educating and entertaining your audience. Nobody like’s watching television commercials, so don’t let your timeline be a never-ending commercial where you are trying to pitch your services to people. Create content that is engaging to your ideal client and audience. Make sure if someone were to come across your profile at random, you’ve left something for them to see that is recent and relevant to them. That’s how you keep their attention once they stopped on your page.

Step #2 – Have a simple website or landing page to collect their information with.

So what happens if you have someone come across your page who is interested in learning more about you and what you do if it can help them solve a problem?

Sure, they could send you a direct message, but what if they feel awkward doing so because it’s 2:30 in the morning and they don’t want to wake you up… These kinds of things happen potentially! This is why you need to have a place for these prospective clients to click through and learn more.

Most platforms will give you a place to put your website link in your profile. Locate this section and get your website listed ASAP! You want that online traffic to have a place to continue searching you out to learn more about you. That’s why posting consistently with good engaging content is an important part of this process. It creates intrigue and drives interested individuals to your website to learn more.

Make sure your website is built on something that loads fast and works across any mobile device. That’s where most people do their web browsing, so your sites need to work well on mobile.

Give the visitor a simple place to submit their information to learn more or contact you regarding your services.

That’s it!

Now you’ve turned your social media profiles into a “funnel” and created the perfect, simple flow to generate leads 24/7.

All you have to do is stay consistent with your posting and engagement.

This will drive more traffic to your pages and increase the chance someone reaches out to learn more.
