How Loan Officers Can Get Business from Builders and Investors

As loan officers, are you tired of chasing real estate agents only to find out they have little to no production? I’m pretty sure none of us enjoy buying lunches for strangers who never send us a single deal. Now to be clear, I’m not saying anything bad about agents at all, but we all know it happens and it sucks. 

Especially during this time of year. The average home seller is too busy decorating the house for the holidays, not staging to to sell quick. This has a direct impact on Agent’s business due to the lull in inventory. We all know the real estate comes to a screeching halt from Oct- Dec.

What about the news of FHA shutting down along with the government? This will also take away a massive amount of loans from the marketplace. Not everyone or every home that qualifies for FHA can qualify to go conventional.  

These are two SERIOUS problems facing you as a loan officer right now.

If you don’t figure out a way to supplement agent and refi leads, you are about to face a slow down. Back when I originated loans I had 3 agents, 1 builder and a plethora of investors. That’s all I ever needed to insure I never had a bad month.  

Take note, when the holiday season is upon us and a home goes on the market, it’s usually due to something drastic taking place in the seller’s life. If you have a group of investors ready to pull the trigger in an instance, you will find yourself securing killer deals for them and becoming like family to them. It’s always good doing business with family.
