Most people I know spend their entire life doing pointless things…
Yep, I said it.
Arguing, lying, manipulating…looking like a squirrel tryin’ to get a nut. Fake ass neighbors talking about their vacations, cars, and how much MONEY they have to throw around.
Problem is…ALL they have to talk about is themselves. You know, the kind of person you tell about one of your victories and they have a story about how they’ve done it bigger, better, and faster.
Comments that make you turn red in embarrassment and go crawl in the first hole you find.
If you’re not careful, you might start envying their story…thinking one day how you’ll be the biggest cock on the roost.
You might think about how you can get MORE of what they have. Our egos can convince us that having money and toys will give us significance.
Making Money And STILL Broke
I’m here to tell you “things” won’t, and if you’re not careful, you’ll find yourself making money and still feeling broke.
Don’t get me wrong, making money isn’t a bad thing…in fact, to get by in this world with any level of considerable comfort, money is a necessity.
Money is just a tool, and it’s how you choose to use it that gives you the ability to live a life of significance.
The art of learning to live a life of significance can also be had BEFORE you are rolling in the dough too. Don’t make the mistake that you have to have money or stuff before considering how you’ll use it.
In fact, ask someone who’s made it, lost it, and made it again.
- Ask them who they’ve become in the process.
- Ask them what money means to them now.
- Ask them how their view of money, and more importantly, people have changed along the way.
There’s a damn fine line between selfishness, selflessness, and how it relates to significance. Broke ass people use people to love things, and people of significance use things to love on people.
Learn to be selfish and not allowing “broke-minded” people to derail you. This is how you actually learn what REALLY being selfless is all about.
The world will tell you that you either have to be Mother Teresa and vow a life of poverty for selflessness. Or have money and abundance without significance because you’re shallow and selfish.
The truth is REAL integrity is living a life of abundance on ALL levels.
You CAN have money and use it to help yourself and others along the way. If you take the time, your heart already knows it’s true. All you have to do is invest the time asking yourself, “what if…”
What if I already have everything I want and need?
How can I make my life EVEN better today?
At the end of the day, you’ll find that sharing what you have is HOW you live a life of significance. Sharing your knowledge, your resources, and your time. Helping others break free from their chains and live a life of abundance too.
Don’t get caught stopping halfway up the mountain just because you’ve made money.
Your money doesn’t impress me…
Who you are despite it or because of it…does.
See ya’ in the trenches!
