When I first became a millionaire, I made a huge
mistake.
I kept myself as the big man on the block.
The smartest person in the room.
And I was keeping company with old friends from the
neighborhood.
They were the wrong people and the reason why we do this is
because we think we’re the wrong people.
So, we hang with the wrong people.
I grew up in an under middle-class neighborhood.
Homes weren’t that big.
But I soon realized I couldn’t hang with the same people from
the same neighborhood because we were different.
I put in more work than they had.
Started a business.
Made more money.
But it didn’t make me better, but made me different.
As a result, I lost friends.
Connections.
This forced me to move into other rooms.
Rooms where I could be the small fish for once, and be
surrounded by people I could learn from.
More successful people.
Those who could bring me closer to the discomfort of what’s
required to make it to the next level in life.
The lesson………Don’t hang out with losers.
