If you are going to make sales using a website, email, text messages and videos (videos need a script) you will need to learn how to write copy that sells.
People are talking less today than ever. People are talking less on the phone and even less in person.
Text messages, direct messages, and email are more popular than ever so if you want to make sales using them you need to know how to write copy that does the selling for you.
Ryan Stewman has studied copywriting with some of the top copywriters in the game and he has personally made millions of dollars from the copy he has personally written.
In this THC Podcast episode, Ryan is going to share with you some of his copywriting secrets so you can start writing copy that sells.
5 Tips For Writing Copy That Sells
1. Be Yourself
Anytime you are trying to be or even sound like someone other than yourself, you will not sound genuine and your target market will pick up on that. Quick. Real quick.
When you are writing any form of copy don’t try to come across in any other way then what and who you really are.
In today’s marketplace, people can smell a phony from a mile away so stop being fake and just be you.
In this episode, Ryan Stewman shares his challenges early in his career with this and how he was able to overcome them and start writing copy that sounded like it was coming right from him.
2. Write On A 5th Grade Level
It’s a well-known fact with copywriters and marketers that you want to write your ads, emails, texts, etc on a 5th-grade reading level.
Don’t try to show how smart you are (or think you are for that matter) and focus on writing copy that would make sense and easily consumable to anyone with a 5th-grade reading level or beyond.
Stewman shares more in this episode on the importance of this and how you can easily execute it in all of your writings.
3. Big Words Hurt
We all know that guy/gal that tries to flex their vocabulary skills and impress people by using big words but we all know they are not impressing anybody.
The same goes for when writing copy that makes you sales.
Don’t try to use big fancy words because they do nothing but make you look like that guy/gal.
Ryan talks more in this episode about how using big words hurts your copy far more then it helps.
4. Be Specific
When you are writing copy to make you sales you want to make it super specific.
You want to be specific in the message, the offer and who you are speaking to within your copy.
The more specific you are in your copy the better results you will see.
Ryan Stewman delivers his top tips on being specific in your copy and why doing so will deliver you the results you are looking for.
5. Tell Stories
It’s no secret these days that stories make sales so it only makes sense to incorporate them into your copy.
When you tell stories in your sales copy it connects with your audience which then, in turn, helps connect your audience with you and that is what makes sales.
You can use several different kinds of stories in your sales copy and in this episode Ryan shares them with you so you can easily start telling stories in your copy today.
