1. Be Yourself

Anytime you are trying to be or even sound like someone other than yourself, you will not sound genuine and your target market will pick up on that. Quick. Real quick.

When you are writing any form of copy don’t try to come across in any other way then what and who you really are.

In today’s marketplace, people can smell a phony from a mile away so stop being fake and just be you.

2. Write On A 5th Grade Level

It’s a well-known fact with copywriters and marketers that you want to write your ads, emails, texts, etc on a 5th-grade reading level.

Don’t try to show how smart you are (or think you are for that matter) and focus on writing copy that would make sense and easily consumable to anyone with a 5th-grade reading level or beyond.

3. Big Words Hurt

We all know that guy/gal that tries to flex their vocabulary skills and impress people by using big words but we all know they are not impressing anybody.

The same goes for when writing copy that makes you sales.

Don’t try to use big fancy words because they do nothing but make you look like that guy/gal.

4. Be Specific

When you are writing copy to make you sales you want to make it super specific.

You want to be specific in the message, the offer and who you are speaking to within your copy.

The more specific you are in your copy the better results you will see.

5. Tell Stories
