“Am I willing to risk it all for a chance?”
If you’re not asking yourself this question from time to time, let’s be honest, you’re probably not living life to the fullest.
Many times, we have a big dream or see some far off opportunity to be great. Them the first thing our brain does is come up with EVERY reason possible NOT to go for it.
That is the Force of Average trying to keep you down.
It’s important to realize that whenever you step out into the world, you are facing a risk. The difference in the risks you worry about and the risks you don’t worry about is the certainty of the results of each situation. Each situation carries an amount of calculated risk; we just have to know how to quantify those risks in our decision-making process.
You don’t worry about hopping in the car and driving to the corner store for a pack of smokes and a Red Bull because you are confident of the results.
You’ve made this trip a hundred times and never had any sort of issues that would make you think twice about it.
However…
Not long ago, You may have had to make a decision that felt very similar to one the field mouse makes when it leaves the safety of its den and passes through an open field knowing the birds and the snakes are out there waiting.
These are the sort of risks we take that can be life-altering.
You might have come to a crossroads in your life which required you to take a risk that put you significantly outside of your comfort zone. Was it a new job? A career change that promised more pay and better benefits?
Maybe you had a great career but realized if you truly wanted to be more successful, you would have to get out from under the constraints of your current company and go out on your own.
You see, it’s easy to stay in the comfort of our burrow when things are good.
But how long will it be until the food supply runs low and the cold sets in
When the going get’s tough, you are going to be responsible for yourself.
Will you run through a field, knowing predators are waiting, and you might not make it?
Even if they are waiting, the only thing you will have to do is outwork them to survive.
What if, on the other side of the field, your biggest dreams and wishes are waiting for you?
You’ll never get where you want to be in this world by playing it safe.
This is where most people fail to see the big picture.
So, run for your life and never look back!
